Not withstanding the profile on him in the October 2008 edition of Style Magazine-titled The Simple Life currently on newsstands- Charles Ford is truly humble to the celebrity he's become. The mild mannered Charles arrived in our studios after his summer long absence, carrying a long, heavy, but thin box labeled "fragile" and his backpack. His flight from Sweden landed a short time earlier and he didn't look tired at all. As a matter of fact Charles had his famous grin and happy glow. Our anticipation grew as he cut the box open with surgical precision, and after carefully removing the protective packaging he pulled out a large heavy roll of what seems to be raw linen fabric. As the fabric was completely released and laid on the gallery floor, the room lit up, and there in front of us lay over 40 original paintings on linen, which are truly amazing to see up close.

Since 1995 Charles Ford has alternated between his studios in Sweden and downtown Baltimore. His last major exhibition was of mostly USA works, but this show will feature works created in Sweden over the past 8 years, which have never been exhibited in the United States.

At the opening reception on Saturday October 11 2008, 6pm to 8pm, Charles will create a painting right before our eyes, and share many stories of his life and inspirations.

We will celebrate Charles' return and his opening with music and a wine selection from BIN604 WINE SELLERS
